It depends on your insurance plan — some plans require a referral from your primary care physician, others don't. Call us and our team will verify your specific plan's requirements before your visit.
Bring any imaging you have, but it's not required. Many patients are evaluated and treated without new imaging. If additional scans are needed, we'll help coordinate them.
Orthopedic surgeons specialize in surgical correction. Interventional pain specialists focus on non-surgical, image-guided treatments — nerve blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, and regenerative therapies. Many pain conditions can be managed without surgery; a consultation helps determine which approach is appropriate for your specific situation.
Timelines vary by condition and individual response. Epidural steroid injections typically take effect within days. Clinical data for radiofrequency ablation shows relief lasting 9–18 months in patients with confirmed facet joint pain. Your physician will discuss realistic expectations based on your specific diagnosis at your consultation.
